After a much-deserved weekend off, the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series roars back to life to be the first of the sport’s national divisions to kick off its 2025 NASCAR Playoffs.

The seven-race run to the championship 4 at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway on October 31, 2025, marks the stretch drive of the season for the 25-race tour.

● About Nathan: Byrd, 24, began racing go-karts in 2018, just after graduating High School, and he entered his first car race in February 2020.

Since then, the Goodyear, Ariz. native has raced over 30 types of cars in 348 total races at 67 different race tracks, effectively becoming one of the most diverse and interesting race car drivers in the world.

Completing more than 300 races in the first four years of his career, Byrd is no stranger to piloting race cars.

In 2024, the Indianapolis, Ind. resident turned his attention to NASCAR. He successfully made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Portland International Raceway and delivered a respectable 21st-place finish for DGM Racing.

In September, Byrd made his NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series debut at Kansas Speedway, earning a respectable 19th-place finish after starting 32nd.

● Nathan Byrd Truck Series Darlington Raceway Stats: Saturday afternoon’s Sober or Slammer 200 at Darlington Raceway will mark Byrd’s inaugural NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series start at the track dubbed “Too Tough To Tame.”

The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series kicks off the 2025 Playoffs at the legendary Darlington Raceway, a demanding 1.366-mile, egg-shaped oval unlike any other on the schedule. Saturday afternoon’s showdown launches the seven-race dash to crown a champion, with precision, patience, and strategy at a premium.

With the regular season in the books, the Round of 10 begins at Darlington, where every lap carries weight and every point can determine who advances deeper into the postseason.

The track’s unique shape, with its mismatched corners and abrasive surface, challenges drivers to balance tire management with aggression in traffic, making execution critical from green flag to checkered.

While the Playoff contenders fight for early momentum, non-Playoff drivers loom as potential spoilers. A victory at Darlington is one of the most coveted in the Truck Series, and veterans and rising stars alike will look to seize the spotlight — and shake up the championship picture.

As NASCAR’s toughest trucks battle under the South Carolina sun, the 2025 postseason begins with intensity, unpredictability and the Labor Day weekend tradition that only Darlington can deliver.

● Nathan Byrd Truck Series Career Stats: Entering Darlington, Byrd has 15 career Truck Series starts with a steady average finish of 25.6.

The popular driver made his Truck Series debut for the family-owned team at Kansas Speedway in September, finishing an impressive 19th. He returned to the team in October at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway before drawing the curtain on the 2024 season by participating in the year's final race at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway.

So far in 2025, Byrd has started in 12 Truck Series races at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway, Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway, Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway, Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, Rockingham (N.C.) Motor Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, Kansas Speedway, Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway, Michigan International Speedway and most recently, a trip to Pocono (Pa.) Raceway.

Calling the Shots: Guiding Byrd as crew chief of the No. 02 Champion Health Inc. Chevrolet Silverado RST is veteran crew chief Jason Miller.

On Saturday afternoon, he will be crew chief in his 152nd NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series race. In his previous 151 races, he has one win, eight top-five and 28 top-10 finishes.

The season’s 19th race will be his third tango at Darlington Raceway as crew chief in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series.

The 2025 season will mark Alfredo’s fourth full-time Xfinity Series campaign, and he joins the Mooresville, N.C.-based team after spending the 2024 season with Our Motorsports.

The 25-year-old finished 15th in the 2024 Xfinity Series driver standings, highlighted by a Dash 4 Cash victory at Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway. He added two more top-five finishes and seven top-10s to his career totals, further strengthening his résumé across 142 Xfinity Series starts.

● Anthony Alfredo NASCAR Xfinity Series Portland International Raceway Stats: Saturday afternoon’s penultimate road course race of the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season will mark Alfredo’s fourth career start at the 1.9-mile venue.

In his previous three starts at the 12-turn race track, Alfredo’s best result came during the 2023 edition of the Pacific Office Automation 147, where he earned a track-best 21st after starting 17th, while driving for B.J. McLeod Motorsports.

Alfredo’s most significant achievement so far at Portland International Raceway was winning the pole for the inaugural Pacific Office Automation 147 on June 3, 2022.

Overall, he holds an Xfinity Series average finish of 28.0 at the iconic Portland, Oregon course.

Twenty-five races into the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season — with just eight remaining — Anthony Alfredo and the Young’s Motorsports No. 42 team remain laser-focused on one mission: mounting a late-summer charge toward the Playoffs.

This weekend, that charge heads west to Portland International Raceway — the 12-turn, 1.967-mile road course tucked in the Pacific Northwest. Known for its tight corners, heavy braking zones, and narrow passing opportunities, Portland demands precision and patience, with every lap presenting new chances for both risk and reward.

A breakthrough victory at Portland wouldn’t just ignite the team’s Playoff push — it would send a clear message to the rest of the Xfinity field and mark a defining moment in the hard work Alfredo and the No. 42 Chevrolet team have been building all season long.

Saturday afternoon’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race is more than just another stop on the schedule — it’s the final standalone event of the year, a pure Xfinity showcase where road-course strategy, pit calls, and race-craft take center stage. Alfredo knows the opportunity ahead is significant.

For Alfredo and the No. 42 team, every lap around Portland’s twisting circuit could bring them one step closer to the postseason. And should they find Victory Lane on Saturday, it wouldn’t just be a win — it would be a powerful statement in their Playoff pursuit, with only two races remaining before the postseason begins.

● Anthony Alfredo Xfinity Series Career Stats: Entering Portland, Alfredo has 142 NASCAR Xfinity Series races to his credit, earning a career-best third-place finish twice, most recently at Talladega Superspeedway after starting 11th in the 2024 edition of the Ag-Pro 300 for Our Motorsports.

Since 2020, he has earned one pole, five top-five, and 23 top-10 finishes and has an average finish of 20.2.

● Daytona International Speedway | Wawa 250 Race Recap: The NASCAR Xfinity Series made its final trip to the Sunshine State for the penultimate superspeedway race of the season at the historic Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.

Without the benefit of practice, the series rolled into qualifying on Friday afternoon, only to see their session abruptly halted with consistent lightning within an eight-mile presence of the 2.5-mile superspeedway. Alfredo started his No. 42 DUDE Wipes Chevrolet from the 32nd position based on NASCAR’s metric to line up the field.

Despite starting the race deep in the field, Alfredo quickly showcased his superspeedway craft, cleverly drafting toward the front of the field, finishing Stage 1 in eighth and collecting three stage points in the process.

He continued to show his strength inside the top-10 during Stage 2, until electrical issues crept up and ruined the team’s night, leaving them with a frustrating and dejected 67 laps completed — 37 laps shy of the race’s checkered flag with a 37th place result.

Now, 25 races into the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, Alfredo and the No. 42 Young’s Motorsports team attempt to remain focused despite the series of unfortunate setbacks as they approach the homestretch of the year.

With the summer stretch winding down, every lap, every adjustment and every finish carries added weight in their pursuit of a breakthrough victory — one that could vault them into the Playoffs and shift the momentum in their favor.

● Calling the Shots: Guiding Alfredo as crew chief of the No. 42 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro is longtime crew chief Andrew Abbott.

On Saturday afternoon, he will be crew chief in his 154th NASCAR Xfinity Series race. In his previous 153 races, he has four top-five and 14 top-10 finishes.

The season’s 25th race will be his second tango at Portland as crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

● Young's Motorsports' NASCAR Xfinity Series at Portland International Raceway: This weekend will mark Young’s Motorsports’ second NASCAR Xfinity Series appearance at Portland International Raceway.

Last June, the team successfully made its Portland debut by qualifying for the race. Rookie driver Leland Honeyman Jr. wheeled the No. 42 RANDCO Industries Chevrolet Camaro from his 32nd starting position to a lead-lap finish in 26th, steadily gaining track position throughout the afternoon.

In total, Young’s Motorsports has competed in nine NASCAR Xfinity Series road-course events, carrying an average finish of 24.0.

With that foundation and a year of added experience, the team heads back to Portland looking to improve on its debut effort and add to its road-course resume with Anthony Alfredo behind the wheel of the No. 42 Chevrolet.

● Young's Motorsports' NASCAR Xfinity Series History: Since entering the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2024, the family-owned organization has logged 57 starts and maintains an average starting position of 25.6 and an average finish of 23.8.

Anthony Alfredo Pre-Race Quotes:

On Portland International Raceway: “Portland International Raceway is in a beautiful part of the country and it’s awesome to bring NASCAR racing to the Pacific Northwest.

“Seeing that it’s no longer on the schedule next season, I’m ready to make the most out of this weekend!”

On Preparation for Portland International Raceway: The simulator is particularly helpful for Portland International Raceway, given its road course nature and technical aspects.

“iRacing recently scanned it, and it’s exactly like the real thing.”

On Portland International Raceway Compared to Other Road Courses on Xfinity Series Schedule: “Portland is quite a bit shorter than some of the other road courses and a little narrower.

“It’s actually pretty fun since the laps click off quickly and remind me of a short track in a way.”

On the Keys to Success at Portland International Raceway: “Track position will be huge since there’s not a lot of strategy with the controlled pit stops this weekend.”

On Portland International Raceway Expectations: “We are still looking for that elusive top-10 on a road course, so that is my goal for this weekend.”

On Daytona International Speedway Finish: “We were really fast at Daytona and had a shot at potentially competing for the win. I hate that another electrical failure ended our race.”

On Goals for the Second Half of the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series Season: “We have had a lot of ups and downs throughout the first half of the race season, but I’m confident we can recover by bringing fast cars to the track and executing well throughout this second half.

“We need more top-10s and a couple of top-fives before the end of the season. Ideally, winning just one race before the Playoffs is our ultimate goal because it would completely save our season.”

On 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Schedule: “The schedule for next season looks really fun and I think it’ll be as exciting for the fans as it will be for the drivers.”

Race Information:
