A SUNNY SEASON FINALE: The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) has descended upon Homestead-Miami Speedway for the 23rd and final race of the 2018 season. The Ford EcoBoost 200 will run 134 laps around South Florida’s 1½-Mile oval under the lights on Friday night and crown a new series champion at the checkered flag. Austin Hill will be in the Young’s Building Systems RANDCO No. 02 and Tanner Thorson in the No. 20 for Friday evening’s events.

HILL CLOSING OUT FIRST FULL SEASON STRONG: Austin Hill will be making his third start at Homestead-Miami Speedway Friday night to wrap up his first full-time season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The driver of the No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado currently stands 11th in driver points and has recorded two career best finishes this season, the first coming in August at Canada (8th) and the second, earlier this month at Texas (5th). “I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel at Homestead. I ran there in 2014 and 2016 and my guys have put together some great trucks for me this season. The 1½-Mile tracks have brought us a top-five and three of our six top-ten finishes, so it should be fun,” said the Winston, Ga. native.

THORSON LOOKS TO MAKE FIRST START AT HOMESTEAD: Tanner Thorson will be making his 11th NCWTS and first career start at Homestead-Miami Speedway this Friday behind the wheel of the No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado. “We’re very impressed with Tanner,” said team principal Tyler Young, “he didn’t have much asphalt experience before coming to us this year and he’s learned a lot and done a great job.” Thorson joined the No. 20 team as its primary driver beginning at Dover in May. “After running a couple of the mile and a half tracks, I’m looking forward to Homestead. My Young’s guys have really shown me the ropes and worked hard building me some fast trucks. I can’t wait to race for them and for GoShare and for my Team Dillon family Friday night and close out the season on a high note,” Thorson said.
