HOMETOWN TRACK: Located in nearby Mooresville, N.C., the Young’s Motorsports team is set to take on Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., this Friday night under the lights for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) North Carolina Education Lottery 200. Austin Hill will be behind the wheel of the No. 02 United Rentals Chevrolet Silverado and Daniel Hemric will pilot the No. 20 Over Kill Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado for his first NCWTS start since 2016.
TEAM 02 AT CHARLOTTE: Friday’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 will only be Hill’s second start at the 1.5-mile circuit, although he did earn a pair of top-15 finishes during his three previous events at intermediate tracks. The Wintson, Ga., native’s crew chief, Chad Kendrick has two top-five and four top-10 finishes at Charlotte Motor Speedway, with his best finishes coming in 2015 with Brad Keselowski and 2017 with Timothy Peters.
HOMETOWN KID AT CHARLOTTE: The nearby Kannapolis, N.C., native will make his third NCWTS start at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday. Hemric earned his best NCWTS finish of ninth in 2016 and earned a seventh-place finish in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS). In 2010, the full-time NXS driver won the inaugural Legends Million race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, earning the largest paycheck in Legend Car History.
