Young’s Motorsports’ NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series History at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ... This weekend will mark Young’s Motorsports’ ninth, tenth, and 11th NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series (NGOTS) starts at the Concord, N.C., facility. The organization posted a team best finish twice of 18th-place, first with driver Tyler Young on May 15, 2015, and with driver Austin Hill on May 18, 2018. The eight previous starts at the 1.5-mile track have earned Young’s Motorsports an average starting position of 21.0 and an average finish of 23.9.


Young’s Motorsports’ NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series History ... Since entering the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series in 2012, the Mooresville, N.C.,-based organization has logged 183 starts from 24 drivers, resulting in solid performances that include three top-five finishes and 20 top-10 finishes, yielding an average starting position of 19.7 and an average finishing position of 19.2.


Putting the Young in Young’s Motorsports … Young’s Motorsports team principal Tyler Young has four starts in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.


Local Connection … Young’s Motorsports has a strong local connection with many team members hailing from North Carolina, including Brian “Tailgate” Dancy (No. 12 mechanic) – North Wilkesboro, Stephen Edelen (No. 02 mechanic) – Mooresville, Wes Gonder (No. 20 mechanic) – Troutman, Chad Kendrick (No. 02 crew chief) – Troutman, and C. Ryan London (No. 20 truck chief) – Mooresville.

The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 will be broadcast live on FS1 and the FOX Sports app on Friday, May 17 starting with NASCAR RaceDay: NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series at 8:00 p.m. (ET). It will also broadcast live at 8:00 p.m. (ET) on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Qualifying for the eighth event of the 2019 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series schedule will air on Friday at 4:30 p.m. (ET) on FS1 and the FOX Sports app.


The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at the Kansas Speedway will re-air on Saturday, May 18 at 8:00 a.m. (ET) on FS1 and the FOX Sports app.

No. 02 Jersey Filmmaker Chevrolet Silverado


This Week's Young’s Motorsports’ Chevrolet Silverado at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ... Tyler Dippel will pilot Chassis No. T-22 in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Chad Kendrick-led team as last unloaded this chassis at the Kansas Speedway on May 10, where it finished in the 12th-place after starting in the 17th-place in the chassis’ second appearance of the 2019 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series season.


Queen City ... This weekend marks Tyler Dippel’s first Charlotte Motor Speedway appearance with the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series. The Wallkill, N.Y., native has one start in the ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America) Racing Series at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. He made his track debut on May 24, 2018 in the ARCA Racing Series.

Speedway Stats: In eight combined NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series starts on speedways (tracks 1 to 2-miles in length), Tyler Dippel has recorded one top-10 finish with an average finish of 13.6.


Atop the Pit Box: Chad Kendrick … Chad Kendrick, crew chief for the No. 02 Jersey Filmmaker Chevrolet Silverado, has two top-five finishes and four top-ten finishes in the NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series at the Concord, N.C.,-facility in 11 starts. In addition, he is credited with leading 19 laps at the Charlotte Motor Speedway as a crew chief.


In the Rearview Mirror: Kansas Speedway ... Tyler Dippel, driver of the No. 02 Jersey Filmmaker Chevrolet Silverado for Young’s Motorsports, finished in the 12th-place in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Digital Ally 250 at the Kansas Speedway on Friday, May 10. Dippel started in the 17th-place in the 30-truck field, and at the Stage 1 conclusion on Lap 40, Dippel was in the 14th-place. By the end of Stage 2 on Lap 80, he was in the 15th-place. The Wallkill, N.Y., native was scored as high as first-place, leading his career-first laps (2) in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series.


Season-to-date … Through the first seven NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series races of the 2019 season, Tyler Dippel has completed 1043 of 1139 laps contested (91.6 percent), and has led two laps. Dippel is currently 11th in the driver point standings, and 14th in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series owner points. In addition, the Young’s Motorsports driver has collected one top-10 finish, and has spent 298 laps running in the top 15 and has made 234 green-flag passes thus far this season.

This Week's Young’s Motorsports’ Chevrolet Silverado at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ... Gus Dean will pilot Chassis No. 021 in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. This Young’s Motorsports-prepared Chevrolet Silverado is new to the Jeff Stankiewicz-led team for the 2019 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series season.


The Hornet's Nest ... This weekend marks Gus Dean’s first Charlotte Motor Speedway appearance with the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series. The Bluffton, S.C., native has one start in the ARCA Racing Series at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Dean started in the second-place in his track debut on May 24, 2018 in the ARCA Racing Series.


Speedway Stats: In five combined NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series starts on speedways (tracks 1 to 2-miles in length), Gus Dean has an average finish of 18.8.


Atop the Pit Box: Jeff Stankiewicz … Jeff Stankiewicz, crew chief of the No. 12 LG Air Conditioning Technologies Chevrolet Silverado, has six starts at the Concord, N.C., facility in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, including one top-five finish and three top-10 finishes. He maintains the highest average finish (12.5) of the Young’s Motorsports crew chiefs at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Stankiewicz also has two starts at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS). In addition, Stankiewicz has one start as a crew chief in the ARCA Racing Series at the 1.5-mile track, finishing in the third-place.

Double the Trouble, Twice the Fun … Gus Dean will return to the ARCA Racing Series behind-the-wheel of the No. 32 CAB Installers Chevrolet Camaro for Win-Tron Racing in the General Tire 150 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Thursday, May 23.


In the Rearview Mirror: Kansas Speedway … Gus Dean, driver of the No. 12 OverkillRV.com Chevrolet Silverado for Young’s Motorsports, finished in the 14th-place in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Digital Ally 250 at the Kansas Speedway on Friday, May 10. The 24-year old started in the eighth-place in his debut at the Kansas City, Kan.,-facility with a NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series career-best qualifying effort. Dean finished Stage 1 in the 16th-place, on Lap 40, and at the end of Stage 2, on Lap 80, was in the 14th-place. The Bluffton, S.C., native was scored as high as the second-place, as he struggled throughout the 167-lap event with an ill-handling Chevrolet Silverado to finish in the 14th-place.


Season-to-date … Through the first seven NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series races of the 2019 season, Gus Dean has completed 813 of 1139 laps contested (71.4 percent), and is currently 13th in the driver point standings, and 18th in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series owner points. In addition, the Young’s Motorsports driver has spent 320 laps running in the top 15 and has made 266 green-flag passes thus far this season.


Quoting Gus Dean:

ON KANSAS SPEEDWAY: “It was another pretty solid weekend for our Young’s Motorsports team. We were able to show that we had a lot of speed in qualifying with a career-best qualifying effort of eighth-place. During the race, we struggled with a tight-handling condition of our No. 12 OverkillRV.com Chevrolet Silverado and, unfortunately, that plagued us all night along. Together we came home with another solid top-15 finish, and we’re making gains – that is what’s important.”


ON CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY: “I love the Charlotte Motor Speedway. It’s an extremely fast track, but I am excited to go there and have the opportunity to race for a top-10 finish with Young’s Motorsports. We had the opportunity to test our Chevrolet Silverado a couple of weeks ago and we learned a lot at the test session. I know my crew chief Jeff (Stankiewicz) has a good game plan to execute during race weekend.

This Week's Young’s Motorsports’ Chevrolet Silverado at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ... Spencer Boyd will pilot Chassis No. T-18 in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Andrew Abbott-led team last unloaded this Young’s Motorsports-prepared chassis at the Kansas Speedway on May 10, where they finished in the 17th-place after starting in the 18th-place. In addition, Chassis T-18 has history at the Texas Motor Speedway with Tyler Young, and at the Dover (Del.) International Speedway with Boyd.


Charlotte's Got a Lot … This weekend marks Spencer Boyd’s second Charlotte Motor Speedway appearance with the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series. The St. Louis, Mo., driver has one previous start at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, finishing in the 20th-place. He made his track debut on May 19, 2017 in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series. In addition, the 23-year old has one start in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at the 1.5-mile track.


Speedway Stats: In nine combined NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series starts on speedways (tracks 1 to 2-miles in length), Spencer Boyd has an average finish of 21.4.


Thank You Mike … Spencer Boyd will honor former NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series team owner Mike Mittler with a tribute paint scheme at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday, May 17. Through his team, MB Motorsports, Mittler fielded entries in over 300 events from 1995 — the inaugural season for the series — through 2018. Boyd made his NASCAR debut in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series on April 2, 2016 at the Martinsville (Va.) Speedway with Mittler.


Atop the Pit Box: Andrew Abbott … Andrew Abbott, crew chief for the No. 20 1A Auto Chevrolet Silverado, has two starts in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, including with Tyler Young, and also with Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) driver Daniel Hemric.


In the Rearview Mirror: Kansas Speedway ... Spencer Boyd, driver of the No. 20 1A Auto Chevrolet Silverado for Young’s Motorsports, finished in the 17th-position in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Digital Ally 250 at the Kansas Speedway on Friday, May 10. Boyd started in the 18th-position. He finished Stage 1 on Lap 40 in the 20th-position, and advanced to 18th-position at the end of Stage 2 on Lap 80. The 23-year old was scored as high as 17th-position throughout the race.


Season-to-date … Through the first seven NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series races of the 2019 season, Spencer Boyd has completed 1090 of 1139 laps contested (95.7 percent), and is currently 12th in the driver point standings, and 17th in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series owner points. In addition, the Young’s Motorsports driver has spent 141 laps running in the top 15 and has made 172 green-flag passes thus far this season.
