ROUND TWO IN LAS VEGAS: The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) heads west to Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway (LVMS) for the second time of the season this week. Young’s Motorsports will be taking three trucks – the Young’s Building System/RANDCO No. 02 of Austin Hill, the GoShare No. 20 of Tanner Thorson, and the Solid Rock Carriers No. 12 of Tate Fogleman – to the World of Westgate 200.
HILL AT LVMS: Hill made his first NCWTS career start at LVMS earlier this season in the Stratosphere 200. He started the 134-lap race from 13th and overcame three pit-road penalties to still earn a 10th-place finish, his first top-10 score of the season.
HOMESTATE KID: Friday night’s World of Westgate 200 will be Thorson’s career-first NCWTS start at LVMS and at any 1.5-mile track. The Minden, Nev., native has made five starts in the NCWTS for Young’s Motorsports this season and has tallied three top-15 finishes. He has never finished outside of the top-20, in fact.
LVMS ROOKIE: Fogleman will also make his career-first NCWTS start at LVMS in Friday’s World of Westgate 200. The Durham, N.C., native has competed in three NCWTS events with Young’s Motorsports this season and has had one start at a 1.5-mile track, Kentucky Speedway. He ran within the top-20 the entire race until brake issues brought the 18-year-old to the garage, relegating him to a 28th-place finish.
