THORSON TO MAKE NASCAR K&N PRO SERIES DEBUT WITH YOUNG’S MOTORSPORTS AT BRISTOL

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 10, 2018) – As part of the partnership with Team Dillon and GoShare, up and coming dirt standout, Tanner Thorson, will make his first start for Young’s Motorsports.  Thorson will pilot the No. 28 Maestro’s Classic® Chevrolet SS in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) race at Bristol Motor Speedway this Saturdayfor the Zombie Auto 150.

“I have been looking forward to this weekend since our partnership with Team Dillon began,” said team principal Tyler Young. “It’s great to add Tanner to our development program and provide a place for him to advance his racing career.”

At the beginning of 2018, the 21-year-old teamed up with Dooling Hayward Motorsports/Richard Childress Racing to pilot the No. 63 midget. Shortly after, it was announced that Thorson would be joining Team Dillon and competing in 12 events with Young’s Motorsports as part of a driver development program.

“Tanner spent some time in the shop with us this week and we hit it off really quick,” said crew chief Andrew Abbott. “We’ve been successful in the past with the K&N Program and from what I’ve seen and heard about his driving ability, I don’t see why that wouldn’t continue with Tanner behind the wheel.”

The Young’s Motorsports No. 28 Chevrolet SS will feature Maestro’s Classic®, a line of beard care and styling products that are “Undeniably Good®” and will assist in “Crafting a Better You®” in beard care. In addition to Maestro’s Classic®, GoShare.co and Ohio Logistics will also be showcased on Thorson’s Chevrolet SS.

The Minden, Nev., native started racing outlaw karts at the age of four and progressed through the ranks. Over the past four years, Thorson competed under the Keith Kunz Motorsports banner where he scored over 25 USAC National Midget and POWRi National Midget victories en route to the 2016 USAC National Midget Championship. He’s also competed in a handful of pavement events with the ARCA Racing Series, CARS Tour and the Pro All Stars Series.

“I’m excited to get my start under the NASCAR banner this weekend at Bristol,” said Thorson. “I can’t thank all of the sponsors and people that have made this possible. I know Tyler and Young’s Motorsports have been working hard to prepare the No. 28 car, so I am looking forward to getting on track.”

The NKNPSE Zombie Auto 150 will be immediately after the NASCAR Xfinity Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 14 at approximately 4:00pm ET. The TV broadcast of the event will be Friday, April 20 at 1:00am ET on NBCSN.
